fabionovembre

Last friday in Kortrijk we saw 2 great presentations from Erwan Bouroullec and Fabio Novembre. could they have been more different? Erwan Bouroullec wasn't a great talker , but with great designs. The presentation from Fabio Novembre was a memorable experience, even though we didn't like most designs so much as product designs. check here the him & her. But Fabio had such a very compelling and convincing story with all his designs, that we started to like them. He studied after architecture also movie making which explains his talent and passion for story telling. never saw a guy so full off himself, but always stayed charming and positive. check out his website; forza fabio!

Non-conformist superbikes

Throwing conventional styling cues in the trashbin, NONOBJECT decided to reinterpret the superbike. This electric motorcycle ditches the garish plastics we see on most bikes these days and choses to bring the bodywork back to the absolute basics.

A different approach was taken by Confederate Motorcycles, in their cooperation with fashion brand Neimain Marcus (a pretty weird combination if you ask me).

Hermes interiors

Hermes is on a roll, not satisfied by merely redoing the interior of a Eurocopter EC135, they now decided to focus their attention to the humble Citroen 2CV. The result is a vehicle that is quite different from the norm of luxury cars, but a lot more interesting (just forget that it's about as safe as riding around in a tin can, as Top Gear conveniently demonstrated: link to Youtube )

edit: Turns out Hermes has somewhat of a history with Citroen, check out this DS, owned by the CEO of Hermes Japan:
