Volkswagen Tango :-)

As you can read in this Bright article, Volkswagen presented this new electric scooter 10 years after we presented then out Tango. Looks good though; like the shape that makes sense after you have seen the folding sequence in the video.

Flashback

Anyone who has studied in Delft knows the tall red building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. It's a big red thin slab that seems to create a local weather system of itself. Failure to brace for impact can get you knocked to the ground by what almost seems like a very local hurricane..
Anyone who's been the unfortunate victim of this has no doubt thought how all that energy could be put to good use, maybe by bolting some wind turbines to the building.

Finally someone has put this idea to practice, albeit not in Delft.
The Strata building (by Brookfield Europe) has been specifically designed to put all this energy to good use. The big integrated turbines will create an expected 50MWh of energy:

Honda 3R-C

The Geneva Autoshow started yesterday and besides the storm of electric concepts (and weird cars that Geneva is also famous for) there was also this Honda 3R-C. Not sure if this is the solution (actually sure it's not), but interesting to see that you see more and more exlorations what can be between a scooter and a car. check the story here.

Year of the tablet?

So, now that the general consensus seems to be that the iPad may not be the killer gadget we all hoped it to be (I like to make broad generalizations), it's maybe good not to forget that there's still a big giant out there working on their own portable device.

Take another look at the MS Courier booklet (I know, it's news from 2009, so by internet standards it's already gathering dust).
Sure, we haven't seen it in real life, but now that we've seen the first glimpses of Windows Mobile 7, I have to admit that MS seems to be sitting on some very very cool new tech. I guess that silly MS Surface technology is trickling down into smaller items:

MS Courier: Interface demonstration
apparently not just some flashy demo, but in advanced stages of prototyping.

And as an extra: Windows Mobile 7

Tazzari

Now this is nice little e-Car that doesn't tries to be a regular car, but builts a new category for small urban vehicles. don't like all the design elements like the front and rear light, but proportion and package are very cool. picture from the Tazzari website, now distributed in NL by our clients Mister Green.

"Engineers say the darndest things"

sometimes all you need is a simple quote:

In the functional design, we see the new components as black boxes. To make the appearance a bit more cheerful, we made the black boxes green.
